Counsellor based in Islington N1 and N7. Telephone & Skype Counselling Available

Hello there, welcome to my website.

I know entering into a counselling relationship can be a scary prospect, that's why I'm happy to offer you a free phone consultation. This would give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have and to see if you feel you can work with me.
If you feel I'm not the right person for you for whatever reason, I can always give you a recommendation to another therapist in your area. Please feel free to phone, text or email me to book a phone consultation. I will do my best to assist you.

When life is getting too tough, or you have problems you can't solve- whether at home or at work- it can really hold you back. Sometimes it feels like your on your own and have nowhere to turn. If you are reading this you have already decided to find someone to help you. I know some people will say "let the past stay in the past" However we can never truly "escape" the past. It lives on as the obstacles and challenges that we face daily.

Boundaries, holding and containment are often seen as the essential foundations for growth in therapy. But they are not always easy to maintain. We can explore how you are managing your own personal boundaries. And how you can change them if they are not working for you. Personal boundaries operate in two directions, they affect the incoming and outgoing interactions between you and others. This will help you to say 'No' and to permit less emotional confusion between you and others. Whether in work, personal, friend or family relationships, with your parents or as a parent.

Work anxiety
Starting out in a work role can be exciting and we might be full of enthusiasm.
But pressures can develop where your personality changes and you might not even be aware of it, until it implodes. Self reflection at this point is useful to understand change and the change to you personally. Change often happens in an uncomfortable place. At this point it is imperative to have the space to explore why this has happened and to set appropriate boundaries in order to work through the uncomfortable place. Trusted feedback allows you to see if you are where you want to be, it can help you to find the parts of you, that have been lost, so you can move forward effectively and achieve your goals.

Humour is a big part of who I am as a person, and I believe that comedy and tragedy are closely linked.
If you decide to work with me, expect to be challenged In a kind sensitive and where appropriate humourous way. I find thinking in depth with another person stimulating and rewarding.

I aim to offer a calm and confidential environment where you can explore concerns that are troubling you, without fear of being judged or criticised.
In a safe environment, thoughts and feelings can be explored and repeated patterns of behaviour identified, some of which may have a bearing on current problems.

Through the counselling process, a greater level of self awareness and confidence can be developed, leading to enhanced relationships and positive
change.
